This was a fun cake to make and after scrutinizing many a picture of the famous sponge and hearing my kids sing, “Sponge Bob Square Cake” for hours his likeness in cake was ready.

This cake was for a little boy in my neighborhood turning 2.

The cake is marble with a cheesecake filling. The basketball is fondant, the Football is a cake truffle, the soccer ball is a cake truffle covered in fondant and the baseball is butter cream frosting.
